THE ORCHESTRA OF THE SUMMER BALLET SEASONS

The orchestra of the Summer Ballet Seasons was created in 2002 specially to contribute the work of the project. For these years the orchestra, following the best music traditions, has formed its own style to perform ballet music which is well known among theatre audience and music lovers. Not only experienced musicians – representatives of main schools of mastery in Moscow – are working in the orchestra, there are also young performers, which were graduated from Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory and Gnesin Russian Academy of Music.

The orchestra of the Summer Ballet Seasons has repeatedly participated in tours of Russian ballet companies in USA, China, France, Germany. It was noted in foreign press that "orchestra is not only an accompaniment, but the full member of performance".
CONDUCTORS OF THE ORCHESTRA
  • Yaroslav Tkalenko
    He is an alumni of the post-graduate school of Gnessin Russian Academy of
    Music (1998) with a degree in Opera and Symphony Conducting.

    In 2000-2006 he was the musical director and conductor of the chamber orchestra of ancient music "Royal Court". He was an intern at the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theater.

    He collaborated with the Mariinsky Theater, the Moscow International house of Music. Since 2002 he is the director of the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center. He takes part in the Center's tours in Russia and abroad, as well as in international festivals. Since 2013 he is the chief conductor of the Tomsk Academic Symphony Orchestra.

    He's been taking part in the Summer Ballet Seasons since 2012.
  • Roman Kaloshin
    Graduated from the Urals State Conservatoire (class of Professor, Honored Artist of Russia Sergey Ferulev).

    The repertoire includes: "Ruslan and Ludmila" by M. Glinka, "Prince Igor" by A. Borodin, "Queen of Spades" and "Iolanta" by P. Tchaikovsky, "Romeo and Juliet" by S. Prokofiev, "The Firebird" by Igor Stravinsky, "The Nutcracker," "Swan Lake", "Sleeping Beauty" by P. Tchaikovsky, "Coppelia" by L. Delibes, "Don Quixote" by Ludwig Minkus, "Giselle" by A. Adam.

    Symphonic repertoire includes works by S. Prokofiev, P. Tchaikovsky, D. Shostakovich, W.A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven.

    Since 2009 he has been the conductor of the Chelyabinsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. Since 2014 he has been the trainee of the Mariinsky Theatre.
  • Nikolay Vinokurov
    Graduated from St. Petersburg State Concervatory of A. Rimsky-Korsakov. Laureate of the contest "Muse of St. Petersburg".

    2003-2005 worked at the Tatar Academic opera and ballet theater of M. Dzhalil.

    2007-2010 worked at the Academic Symphonic orchestra of the Moscow philarmonic hall. Also worked at the New Opera theater of E. Kolobov.

    2012-2016 was a musical director at the Bolshoi symphonic orchestra of Tchaikovsky under the leadership of V. Fedoseyev.
